A fresh new look
- New layout – a slim icon menu, content in clear cards.
- Four themes in light and dark mode, or follow Windows.
- Choose your picture of the day's energy: bar, gauge, petals or timeline.
- Kcal on every search result, right in the list.
- My foods are edited right on the page and saved as you move on.
- Recipes show the nutrition first: kcal per serving and fat quality.
- More recipe sites can be fetched, and spices are weighed right per spoon.
- Warnings for implausible amounts, like 2,000 g instead of 200 g.
How to install on your computer
- Click Download for Windows and open the file when the download has finished.
- Windows may show the box "Windows protected your PC". This is because the app is not code-signed yet - perfectly normal for a beta from an independent developer. Click More info and then Run anyway.
- Read and accept the terms. The app is installed for your own user account - you do not need to be an administrator.
- Start Dagens Rätt from the Start menu and create your profile.
How to install on your phone
- Tap Download for Android on your phone - or scan the QR code with your phone camera from your computer - and open the file when the download has finished.
- Android asks whether the browser may install apps. Tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source and go back.
- Google Play Protect or an antivirus app may warn about an app it does not recognise - the app is not on Google Play yet. Choose More details and then Install anyway.
- Start Dagens Rätt. The app tells you itself when a new version is available.
Good to know
Your data stays on your computer or phone by default. Your food diary, recipes and profile are stored locally. Nutritional values are fetched from Open Food Facts and the Swedish Food Agency (Livsmedelsverket) when you search. Syncing between your phone and computer over your home network is something you switch on yourself if you want it – see the privacy policy.
Updates. The app tells you when a new version is available - on both your computer and your phone. Install it over the old one - your data is kept.
Uninstalling. Via Windows Settings → Apps. Your data is not removed when you uninstall.
Make a backup now and then: Settings → Data & backup in the app.
